Now I realise its a bit early for Halloween, but I really wanted to be able to offer a themed calendar this year, and realised there are a couple of themes I just didn’t have in my store. I had always said I wouldn’t do Halloween or July 4th kits etc, but you know how the saying goes lol -Never Say Never !

I’m also trying something different with this collection. Because I couldn’t decide which papers I liked more, you get to choose how you’d like to build your kit. Each of the paper packs comes with 9 patterns and 9 co-ordinating solids ( same set of solids in each pack ). If you decide you prefer to buy items like this, ie just the elements, or just the papers, I’ll consider doing more collections this way.

I know, I’m so original lol, but I really really wanted to release a birthday collection this week. My previous birthday kit has been retired for ages, so it was about time I did another one !

Cake and presents started out being a remake of my Birthday Boy kit from years ago, but as with all my kits, it took on a life of its own, and ended up nothing like the original. New colours, new papers and patterns, new elements. There are only a couple of original elements included, and even these have been totally redone.

(CU) Photoshop Styles 2

These styles can be used on more than just flowers. To use on other elements ( alphas, frames, corners, tags etc ) once you have applied the chosen style to your elements, just turn off the gradient layer.

For those of you who are new to using styles, see the screenshots below.

All I did was turn off the gradient layer:

as you can see from the second preview, these styles look great on alphas once the gradient layer is turned off too

Arron was my friend, my confidante, my love, the man I was supposed to spend the rest of my days with. This kit is dedicated to him, as others have been in the past.

It has been a tradition of mine since I started designing, to release a kit on the anniversary of Arron’s death each year. Last year was “What is Love”, and the year before was “Heartlight” (now retired). Designing these kits, and scrapping a layout about Arron each year, helps me get through a day that would otherwise have been very difficult to handle.

Some of you might remember that The Jaba Girls had a few new additions a couple of months ago, One of those additions, Julie, also had her own anniversary to deal with during the past week. Julie and I have shared our experiences with each other, and helped each other through our respective days. She has become an important member of our team, someone who we all love very dearly. So I’d also like to dedicate this kit to Julies husband Robert.

Arron & Robert, you might be gone, but you are most certainly not forgotten. In honour of Arron & Robert, today I am releasing “Remember” a collection to help you scrap memories of loved ones who are no longer with us, to preserve them for years to come.
